About Nubian Goats

The Anglo-Nubian, or as they are called in the US, Nubian originates from Great Britain from milking stock and also goats from the Middle East and North Africa. What sets the Nubian apart from other dairy breeds is their large pendulous ears and their nose, it is refered to as a "Roman" nose.

The Nubian is a dairy breed and is considered to have the highest butterfat content than other dairy breeds, but their volume is less. Their milk has more flavor than the other breeds that have a lower fat content. The high butterfat content makes them highly sought after by those that are interested in cheesemaking. The Nubian is a very sociable, outgoing goat but they are referred to as "noisey nubians".

Some say goats are like potato chips.  You can't have just one.

Got questions? We look forward to hearing from you.
